Have a Mice day!!

Funny tid-bit of info for the day... We now have mice in my office. But not your average, run-of-the-mill-cheese-eatin MICE. No, not here. We have FANCY mice. Our mice prefer Godiva Chocolate and Jelly Belly jelly beans, and that gourmet popcorn that you get on the holidays. Yes, our mice are spoiled. Remember that rant about the ten tons of candy that people pass out on the holidays? Ya, well, little old mouse-y decided to take care of all that sugary goodness for me. Thank you??? I do, probably, owe him a big fat thank you for that extra 10 pounds he probably just saved my hips. I prefer to NOT have little bitty rodents scurrying around behind my back, but if they're takin one for the team and eating all that crap for me... well, heck, I can't be too mad at em. Just please, stay out of site. (out of site, out of mind)

I do wonder how long those little mice and I have been sharing the same popcorn.

Ew. Nevermind.

AnyWHO.. the office has been TERRIBLY slow today, giving me time to even NOTICE that we have mice. It also gave me time to finish wrapping a few gifts, read the paper, catch up on my archeology news, organize 3 bags of beanie-babies that were donated (which was probably the most fun I'll have all week), and fiddle-faddle on the internet.(check out my internet shenanigans HERE)

The five year old Creepy Mc.Creepster

Me: "Do you (five year old boy) want to come back in our awesome play room for a little bit??!

Boy: "Do you have a computer?"

Me: "Yes, we have a computer and a Playstation, and movies, and lots and lots of games!"

Boy: "Is it a real computer?"

Me: "Yup. A real live computer!" (with a hint of sarcasm)

Boy: "Okay.. I'll come back." (Walks up to the computer) "I have to check my email"

Me: "Nope.. can't check your email. There's no internet on that computer. But there are lots and lots of games!"

Boy: "It appears that you do not have any of the games that I like."

Me: (remember.. this is a 5 year old) "Okay.. well.. what kinds of games DO you like??"
Boy: "Violent ones."

Me: (getting slightly creeped out) "Violent like... wrestling???? Football?? What kinda violent?"

Boy: "Violent like guns and killing people and blood. Those are the only games that I like. I like killing people."

Me: (officially creeped out) "Well.. you're right.. we don't have those games here.. because they are not suitable for children. You ARE a child, right!!?!" (I don't think I said that last part outloud.. but I sure was thinkin it)

Boy then proceeds to pull up Microsoft Word and types: "Hi welcome to the fake website i would like to play with you"

Me: "I think you should go sit out in the lobby with your mom"

*This dialogue does not give justice to how creepy this child was. No smiling. No expressions. Quite possibly the third or forth future serial killer that I've met while employed here.*

I. Love. My. Job.

Creepy-Mc.Creepster

So, today..
well.. where should I start? How about the usual... "crap! It's 8:00!"
Late. Again.
Ya know, the norm.
I faught with insurance companies pretty much from 9:00-11:00. That was fun. It was also a first for me. I didn't (and still don't) know any of the "insurance lingo". Such as: "predetermination letter", "medical necessity", or "impacted wisdom tooth EXTRACTION". Well, I do know what an impacted wisdom tooth is because I am currently living with two of them that are lodged under my gums, jabbing at the rest of my teeth with great force. :) It's very pleasant.

Insurance is crap.
I don't think that I need to further that statement. It's pretty self-explanitory.
Insurance is crap.

I also find it somewhat creepy that State Farm and United Health Care both know more about me than I do. I give them my social security number and they pull up my full name, address, cell phone AND work phone numbers, date and place of birth, make and model of the car I drive, license plate #, my credit card #, my parents names, when and where I purchased my vehicle, my estimated life span, hair and eye color, what type of socks I was wearing when I ran that traffic light last Thursday, date of last spagetti dinner consumed, place of employment, job title, the color of my couch, date of last doctors visit, date of next doctors visit, when my tires need rotating, what pharmacy I use, any allergies I have, how many cd's were stolen out of my car a year ago... ect.. ect.. (next time I should totally see if they'll fax me my family tree. I've been wanting to see that thing)

Creep-eeeee.
Seriously, just tell me how much money I do or do not owe you. That's all you really want in the first place, right?

Also, how does one's insurance go up by 20% and yet still reap not one benefit? The only thing they've helped me with is adding another card to my wallet. But it is a great wallet. ;)
A cute little empty one.
